Greatwide Logistics Services Announces Driver Safety Performance Achievements

DALLAS (October 27, 2009) - Greatwide Logistics Services, a national provider of non-asset-based transportation and third-party logistics services, announced they have launched a program to reward company drivers and owner-operators when they reach any one of the six established milestones since their last preventable collision. This Mileage Milestone Award program adds to numerous other safety programs Greatwide sponsors, resulting in a 12% improvement year to date in safe driving since 2008.

The first drivers were recently rewarded under this new program. Greatwide recognized Robert Walker who has driven 2 million safe miles, eight drivers after driving 1.5 million safe miles, 37 drivers with 1 million safe miles, 199 drivers for driving 500,000 safe miles, 795 drivers after driving 250,000 safe miles and 1,159 drivers with 100,000 safe miles.

Mileage Milestone Awards are presented to eligible drivers twice yearly when they reach any one of the following milestones: 100,000; 250,000; 500,000; 1 million; 1.5 million; and 2 million safe miles. Safe miles are considered those driven without preventable collisions. The Mileage Milestone Awards display each driver's level of professional achievement and range from a Greatwide lapel pin to a Greatwide ring displaying the number of safe miles driven.

In addition to recognizing drivers, Greatwide also recognizes operating centers whose drivers collectively achieve the following safe mileage milestones: 2.5 million, 5 million, and 10 million safe miles. Like drivers' Mileage Milestone Awards, operating center awards are calculated from date of the most recent preventable collision.
